My experience
In this section, I will explain you my experience in iLab.
For this, I will explain how and why I developed 3 skills to continue my studies and for my professional's future
First skill : Being in Team
The first skill I improved during the semester is being in team. At the beginning of the semester, I had some skill to work in a team but only with people who have the same skills as me in my university. So, during the semester, I improved this skill by working with my teammates who have different skills and fields of study. For this, I let my teammates input their skills in the challenge and I notice that it's better to let them doing what they know to do and just take notes for my personally. I experienced that it's better to work on what I can do with my skills and let my teammates work on what they know to do with their skills.
This skill is very important for me and my future because I will be confront of this kind of situation in the future in a company where different people from different offices with different skills will work together on a project.
Second Skill : Define a problem
The second skill I discovered is define a problem. Before this semester, I never did it because, as an engineer, you never have to define a problem but just to, at least, created specifications from a need of a client or this specification is already done. So, during the semester, I chose to develop and improve this skill by, first, following the courses and tips we had from the teachers and Lab masters and, then, try it and receive tips from my teammates who are already confident with this skill.
This skill will be useful for my professional's future because it can help me to be open to innovative's offices in a company or companies who want to be only innovative by creating new product.
Third Skill : Prototyping in a room
The third skill is prototyping in a room. In my engineering school, when I prototype something is often on a software and I rarely make it real. So, with our test event of The Green Den, I was able to make something concrete and took more experience thanks to that. To prototype it, I develop a logistic skill by find a shop to buy all the plants and then find a way to bring all the plants to the room where was the test event. I did it because this skill will be very useful for me because, in small companies, an engineer can be in charge of contact suppliers, compare them and order parts for a project.
Furthermore, I printed in a 3D model the room where we made the test event because I already master how to create a 3D model on a software. I took some more experience to print it! I did it because is one of the skill more and more ask currently in engineering because this method is very good for prototyping.
Teammates feedbacks

"Bastien was really a down to earth teammate, a realist at heart who never lost track of the practical and technical aspects of our project. He always tried his best and even though Bastien was part of a social-oriented project, he never failed to find creative ways to implement his personal skill-set. He was also very open-minded about being part of a social project and willing to learn new skills. I had the pleasure of working together with Bastien from day one, and what I feel he grew in the most, are his presentation skills." ORIN
"Bastien is a super friendly teammate that is willing to help anytime in the project. His positive attitude always brings a good mood into the team and I am very glad to work with him! It's a pity not being able to see his true engineer skills bloom in this project, but that didn't stop him from applying his skills." XINYI
